Campobasso can be reached by bus and by car; trains only run as far as Bojano (see below). Here you will find the main connections and links to the official websites, where you can check up-to-date timetables and fares. Timetables and fares may change: we recommend always checking them before you travel.

By train

Please note: there are no trains to Campobasso. Rail service on the line has been suspended since June 2020 because of electrification works, and the connection with Bojano station is provided by replacement buses. Since 19 January 2026, trains between Bojano, Isernia, Rome and Naples have resumed: Bojano is therefore the nearest railway arrival point. Works to reopen the line as far as Campobasso are not expected to be completed before December 2028.

To reach Campobasso by train, get off at Bojano and continue on the Trenitalia replacement bus. Always check timetables and stops of the replacement buses before you travel, as they may change.
