The Association, then called Prometeo per la Cultura, was founded in April 1993 on the initiative of Maestro Domenico Fratianni: as stated in Article 3 of its founding charter, its purpose is to promote, support, organise, bring to life and take part in cultural events in general, and specifically figurative and literary activities.
Today it is named Domenico Fratianni, in tribute to the man and the artist who, over many years, made Culture his banner, animating the association with varied activities of significant impact on its territory, the city of Campobasso and the Molise region. In particular, for about twenty years, it has worked for the knowledge and promotion of the Graphic Arts through the Biennale dell’Incisione Italiana Contemporanea.
Today it pursues the same goals, fully respecting the guiding principles “laid down” by the Maestro, together with the wish to leave a record of what he achieved and to pass on his life, his work and his Art. To preserve his memory and make it a reminder for anyone in search of Beauty, in all its forms.
